K&J | A Volunteer Park Conservatory Wedding in Seattle, WA
Karen & Jon knew one thing with certainty after they got engaged, they wanted to get married in the Volunteer Park Conservatory! Jon proposed to Karen two days before they jetted off to France to eat good food, drink even better wine, and begin daydreaming about their wedding. They began wedding planning immediately by reaching out to us in March, and 3 short months later they tied the knot. Karen is a long-time client of ours so it was extra special that we were able to be there with her and Jon on their wedding day.
Karen got ready at Hotel Sorrento, a boutique hotel in Downtown Seattle. She stepped into a gorgeous dress from Blue Sky Bridal and we were able to capture some old Hollywood vibes on film at the hotel before she met up with Jon for their first look.
Karen’s gorgeous salt and pepper diamond ring and wedding band were custom creations from Point No Point Studio in Snohomish, Washington.
One of our favorite moments of the day, Karen embodying Old Hollywood glamour as she steps out of the elevator at Hotel Sorrento.
With anticipation hanging in the air, Karen & Jon laid eyes on each other for the first time at Volunteer Park near the Thomas Burke Memorial. The first look was emotional and intimate, and all of their nerves instantly melted away. They read each other their vows and we hung back to capture this moment uninterrupted.
Before the ceremony had begun, we took family and wedding party portraits outside of the Volunteer Park Conservatory. The greenhouse was the dreamiest backdrop!
The ceremony took place in the Volunteer Park Conservatory with only their family and closest friends in attendance. The love and buzzy energy was palpable in the air as Karen walked down the aisle to Jon.
We captured key moments of Karen & Jon’s day on 35mm film.
Post-ceremony we took advantage of the greenhouse and snapped their couples portraits around the Volunteer Park Conservatory. This classic Seattle landmark’s beauty is unmatched.
Karen & Jon then hopped in a limo to ride to their reception at 10 Degrees Georgetown where a larger group of loved ones awaited their arrival to officially kick off the evening.
Blue Wave Band kept the music going all evening, playing the classics and some more modern tunes to keep the party going into the late night.
We stole Karen & Jon away for a few sunset portraits around Georgetown, (which we always recommend!) with each photo perfectly preserving this moment in time.
Alongside digital and 35mm film photos, we shot a short Super8 Wedding Film to preserve Karen & Jon’s day. We love shooting Super8 Film to accompany our client’s Wedding Photo Gallery as it is a timeless and simple way to look back on your wedding day.
