L&D | Silcox Hut on Mt. Hood Wedding
A whimsical winter wedding at Silcox Hut on Mt.Hood in Oregon, above The Timberline Lodge.
Lucy, David, twenty guests, + Briana and I took a snowcat up Mt. Hood from the Timberline Lodge to the Silcox Hot this December for a winter wedding. We had one clear night, when I took that starry photo, but other than that, it was a winter storm. Snow, frozen rain, and extreme winds. We cozied up and ate meals at one long table, played board games, and slept in bunks. It was the perfect intimate mountain wedding. Lucy and David were married in front of the giant stone fireplace (that runs all. year. long.) at the Silcox Hut, then via snowcat we headed down Mt. Hood for a reception lunch at the Timberline Lodge.
Lucy and David are so creative. Their wedding was very DIY. Lucy is a wedding dress designer, she MADE her short sleeve dress, and works for Anomolie, the brand of the sleeveless dress. They brought flowers up the mountain, and Lucy made her own bouquet, hair piece, and David's boutonniere. Lucy gifted all of the ladies that came up Pendleton blankets, to cozy up in front of the fire with.
Lucy and David are one seriously adventurous couple. When we woke up the day of their wedding to howling winds and white out conditions, they were eager to get out, play, and take photos. They didn't shy away from the below zero temps, they were excited to take photos outside! Lucy wrapped herself in a Pendleton throw at the hut, and in a cognac wool coat at the Lodge for photos. They wore winter boots. David said he was so excited about the wedding, because it was basically one big camping trip, and I couldn't agree more.
