M & R | A Retro 70’s Themed Backyard Wedding on Bainbridge Island

Maddisson & Rolf’s wedding weekend was one for the books - when they told us their wedding was going to be a retro 1970’s theme we SCREAMED. The 70’s fashion at this wedding was so much fun to photograph and you could tell everyone had so much fun putting together their looks for M & R’s day. Rolf’s parents hosted the wedding in their own backyard and it was the perfect setting for the 70’s backyard garden party of Maddisson & Rolf’s dreams. Hors d'oeuvres and dinner from Wanderlust Catering was a highlight of the day - the cuisine was artfully presented and the menu was perfectly crafted to fit the Washington summer season & included all of M & R’s favorite dishes. We began with capturing their Pickleball tournament on Bainbridge Island the afternoon before the big day.

Their first look was so emotional - it was such an honor to photograph these two. Maddisson’s four sisters looked on while they had their first look!

Rolf’s parent’s backyard transformed into a dream dinner party among the apple trees.

Cocktail hour kicked off before the ceremony portion of their day, we loved this untraditional twist on the usual wedding timeline!

Maddisson & Rolf chose to do only a vow reading in lieu of a traditional ceremony. They each read their personal vows to each other in front of their friends and family.
