E & S | A Washington State Ferry Engagement Session | Seattle, WA
Emmalea and Sean's engagement session was one for the books! We started off by shooting on a Washington State ferry before heading to Anderson Point County Park. Despite the on and off rain that happened all day, the weather ended up being perfect, with dramatic clouds, a beautiful sunset, and even a rainbow! We shot a mix of film and digital photos at this session!
Why have an engagement session? Engagement sessions are such an important time to connect and get to know one another before the wedding. One of the things that made this session so special was the instant connection we had with Emmalea and Sean. They were so much fun to work with and had great energy throughout the shoot!

As we sailed across the waters, we were lucky enough to see a rainbow in the distance! We heard the captain yell at us to turn around, and there it was! It was a magical moment that set the tone for the rest of the session.
For the second half of the shoot, we headed to Anderson Point County Park and down to the beach. This was such a great beach for a shoot! The beach was not busy at all and had rocky stretches and sandy stretches. There were tall fields of seagrass with paths winding around, and large driftwood logs.
While we were there, we had a surprise visitor â a seal popped up to say hello! Emily, who is originally from the Midwest, was over the moon to see a seal up close and personal. It felt like yet another magical PNW moment.
Another personal touch that Emmalea and Sean brought to the session was craft beers with cute labels. They love to enjoy craft beers on their dates to breweries. It was a perfect addition to the shoot and added an element of fun and relaxation. We love adding custom touches to engagement shoots, making them more memorable and personal.
As the session came to a close, we were treated to a stunning soft pink sunset that provided the perfect backdrop to wrap up the story. We are so excited to photograph Emmalea and Sean's wedding this summer and capture more of their love story!
We always love shooting on the ferries (view our previous session on the ferry by clicking HERE). Ferry sessions are the perfect backdrop for any couple getting married in the PNW and for any couple with a personal connection to the peninsula and the islands. They are also the perfect opportunity to have a two part shoot that ends at a beach!
