E&JR | A Candlelit Dinner Party Wedding at the Corson Building
Emily & JR are a Seattle native couple who met through work and with the help of Emilyâs maid of honor - they both discovered they had a big crush on each other! Flash forward several years, and Emily & JR set their sights on The Corson Building in Georgetown, Seattle to host their big day. The couple had their first few dates in the Georgetown neighborhood so the neighborhood held extra sentimental value to them as a couple! The Corson Building gave them the intimate and Italian Countryside vibes that they were in search of for their wedding day.
The Corson Building is one of our favorite venues for a wedding in Seattle. It is a truly delicious and unique farm-to-table experience, inspired by the bounty of the PNW region. The menu changes seasonally and we are always blown away by the food each time we have the pleasure of dining or shooting a wedding here. If you are looking for a wedding venue in the Seattle area to host an intimate wedding we could not recommend The Corson Building enough!
We shot Emily & JRâs day on both digital and 35mm film. We love shooting key moments throughout each coupleâs wedding day (while also capturing on digital) on film as it adds a nostalgic feel to the day. We always recommend a film add-on!
Emily got ready with her maid of honor, mother, and sister-in-law in the upstairs suite of The Corson Building.
To get out some pre-first look jitters, JR, his best man, and officiant took to the brewery down the street to relax with a beer in hand.
Emily slipped into her wedding dress from Blue Sky Bridal with the help of her maid of honor. She opted for a chic pair of bridal sneakers for optimal comfort!
Emily & JR ducked under the cover of the back patio for their first look, away from the constant Seattle drizzle. JRâs face beamed as soon as he saw Emily!
Pure joy!
Emilyâs stunning bouquet was artfully arranged by KAN Flowers. Emily & JR gave them full creative control over the florals and the end result was a complete surprise to the couple! All night guests were complementing how beautiful the florals were.
Emily & JRâs families were all smiles the whole day! Not even the Seattle drizzle could get them down!
The interior details of The Corson Building make for the perfect backdrop for an intimate dinner party.
Emily & JRâs âfirst lookâ with the reception space was priceless, they were so excited seeing all of the little details of their day come together. KAN Flowers crafted the perfect centerpieces adorning the two long dinner tables.
Emily & JR blissfully leaned into the drizzle and huddled under umbrellas during portraits.
Emily & JRâs reception details were so stunning. They put so much thought and care into each place setting and were so excited to see the final result on their big day. Their long dinner tables were set up on the beautiful covered patio of The Corson Building.
As guests arrived there were lots of warm welcomes and sweet reunions shared between Emily & JRâs long-time close friends and family! Guests were also offered a welcome drink to enjoy before the ceremony.
All of the guests cheered as JR walked down the isle, cheering him on!
Emily, teary eyed, walked down the isle on the arm of her father and there was not a dry eye in the house!
Emily & JR looked out at all of their friends and family to soak in the moment!
Their ceremony was meaningful and heartfelt. With a surprise for allâĻ they were already legally married!
The newly weds!
After the ceremony, Emily & JR had a moment alone with a celebratory drink!
We then snuck off to photograph Emily & JR post ceremony walking around Georgetown. This Seattle neighborhood played a part in their love story and we wanted to document them in the place that started it all!
Heading back into cocktail hour to greet all of their family and lovely guests!
The food at The Corson Building is truly next level. We were drooling over the appetizers at cocktail hour!
As guests began trickling into the dinner space, we captured the table details in the soft glow of evening.
The wine was flowing as the first course made its way out to guests! Emily & JRâs dinner was served family style by The Corson Building. Family style is our favorite to photograph because it adds to the intimacy of the day and creates memorable moments of guests interacting.
Emily & JRâs maid of honor and best man gave two touching speeches. Guests erupted in laughter & shed happy tears!
Emily & JR wanted their wedding to feel like an intimate dinner party surrounded by all of the people closest to them. We were so honored to capture this special day in their lives!
With full hearts and bellies, everyone made their way to the dance floor for Emily & JRâs first dance.
Emily & JRâs first dance was sweet and tender, sharing an intimate moment as their family and closest friends gazed on at them.
After their first dance, everyone ran over to the dance floor to get the party started! Macklemore was a hit of the night as they are both Seattle natives!
Everyone filled up on spice cake and espresso throughout dancing. YUM!
The sign of a good party!
After several hours of non-stop dancing, Emily & JR made their getaway into the night as newlyweds. Congratulations to Emily & JR!
